The ÖVP is once again fueling the discussion about a ban on citing media from case files. This should apply before public hearings in criminal proceedings, Constitutional Minister Karoline Edtstadler suggested on Saturday in social networks. She again referred to the model applicable in Germany. “Fundamental rights apply to everyone, including those accused in criminal proceedings,” she argued the recent initiative.
