Europe must act as an independent and self-confident actor alongside China and the USA in international competition
Wels (OTS) – “The Austria plan presented today in Wels by Chancellor Karl Nehammer shows solutions to the pressing questions of the future,” said Federal Minister Karoline Edtstadler in an initial reaction to the Chancellor’s Austria plan.
The Federal Minister particularly emphasized the measures to reduce bureaucracy as crucial for Europe as a business location. “We want to become world champions of innovation and not champions of over-regulation,” said Federal Minister Karoline Edtstadler after the speech.
Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s Austria plan provides for numerous measures, such as the abolition of the biggest regulatory errors – rival legislation or absurd labeling requirements. In addition, a consistent prevention of over-fulfillment of European minimum standards, the so-called “gold plating”, is also required, which creates competitive disadvantages.

Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s Austria plan clearly underlines that the People’s Party will continue to be the center force in the future, standing up for a self-confident Austria in a strong European Union: for strong and robust external border protection and the fight against illegal migration, for a dynamic one Business location that can exist between China and the USA and for a diverse Europe of strong regions.
“We are facing numerous challenges that no member state can overcome alone, but that we can only overcome together as the EU.
