Opened in October, the “Cutouts” exhibition features 8 works by Kobra, who also paints permanent murals in the city

The Palazzo Blu Museum, in Pisa, debuted the exhibition “Cutouts”, by Eduardo Kobra, on October 26th, with visits until January 7th. The exhibition is part of the Festival della Strada, which will feature several exhibitions throughout the city, lectures and workshops; the Brazilian artist stands out in the program, which also includes other street art artists creating new murals. Palazzo Blu is an ancient noble palace restored and managed by the Pisa Foundation, located in the south of Lungarno, in the heart of the city’s historic center and also acts as a cultural center for the city. For the occasion, Eduardo Kobra presents 8 new works that dialogue with contemporary artists that inspire him.

The Palazzo Blu Museum simultaneously presents the exhibition “Le avanguardie – Capolavori dal Philadelphia Museum of Art”, with works by Chagall, Dalì, Duchamp, Kandinsky, Matisse, Mirò, Mondrian and Picasso, coming from the American museum located in Philadelphia. The works created by Kobra for his solo show are inspired by the artists exhibited in “Le avanguardie”. “The eight artists represented in this exhibition are, more than eternal in the history of art, a reference for any and all contemporary creators”, commented the artist.

Kobra was also present in the city with the presentation of the “Galileo” mural, located in the Maccarrone Center – his first mural in Pisa, and his sixth made in Italy. “For me, it is a privilege to have a mural here in the city. Firstly, because this land is the birthplace of Galileo Galilei, one of the greatest geniuses in history. That’s why I decided to pay tribute to him with my work”, he says. Galileo Galilei is considered the father of modern science and comments on the project in the Italian city on his social networks.

Born on the outskirts of São Paulo in 1975, tagger, graffiti artist, street artist and muralist Eduardo Kobra is now internationally recognized and has his works spread across the walls of countless cities around the world. Holder of records, such as the largest graffiti mural in the world, Kobra is known for his sensitivity to social issues, representing environmental causes, human rights and peace in his murals. He also founded the Kobra Institute, which seeks to transform lives through art, through various actions and humanitarian projects.
