[Sing Tao Daily report]The Education University of Hong Kong announced that the current term of President Zhang Renliang will expire, that is, after the end of August next year, instead of seeking re-election, the university will launch global recruitment for the post of President.
EdUHK stated that Zhang Renliang will resign after his term expires on August 31, 2023, and will announce the decision to all teachers, students and alumni. Zhang Renliang said that he was very honored to join hands with members of the Board of Governors, staff, students, alumni and supporters at different stages to promote the development of EdU. After the rectification of the name, he developed multiple disciplines and enhanced the strength of teaching and research.
Dr. Huang Youjia, Chairman of the University Council, thanked Zhang Renliang for his contribution, and pointed out that under his leadership, EdUHK and its former colleges have achieved progress in academic development, research and knowledge transfer, university management and campus facilities improvement. It will continue to move towards the goal of becoming an excellent university with research strength and education-oriented in Hong Kong and the region, and make greater contributions to the education sector and society as a whole.
