MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored a season-high 44 points, while Rudy Gobert had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who beat the Dallas Mavericks 118-110 on Thursday.

The Mavs were without Luka Doncic, playing on consecutive nights. Dallas fell 113-110 in Cleveland on Wednesday.

Karl-Anthony Towns added 10 points for Minnesota, which improved to 13-1 at home on the season.

The Wolves trailed by one point midway through the third period before going on a 15-3 run to gain control. They held the advantage in the rest of the match.

Doncic missed his third game of the season due to left quadriceps pain. Kyrie Irving missed his 11th straight game with a bruised heel.

Coach Jason Kidd said Doncic aggravated his quadriceps injury during the Christmas game, a win over Phoenix.
