The ARS had requested mosquito control because a case of the tropical disease of dengue fever had been detected in this district of Bayonne. The goal is to reduce the population of mosquitoes, vectors of disease. Because if they bite the person carrying the disease, they can transmit it to their next victims (1).
Instructions
The work was carried out by the company Altopictus. On board a vehicle, the employees sprayed an insecticide on the area concerned to be able to eliminate the insects.
On the prospectus, the residents had received some instructions. Linen, food and objects exhibited outside had to be brought in. The same for animals. It was also advised to close the windows and not approach the machines.
After the operation, it is recommended to wait three days to consume fruits and vegetables from the vegetable garden (after having washed them), to rinse the objects which have been exposed and to favor indoor activities the next day.
