Efficient Planning and Progress: Herstal Tram Extension Project to Ensure Timely Completion by June 2026

2023-09-02 14:00:00

While the end of the Liège tram site is not announced before the end of January 2025, on the Herstal side, we are already preparing the start of work for the extension. Indeed, the first shovel is announced for October 2. A project that must imperatively be completed by June 2026, if the authorities do not want to lose the subsidies allocated by Europe.

A deadline that the elected municipal officials do not fear, saying they are “better prepared than in Liège”. “The site will be better managed, the companies called are different and we have learned from the mistakes of the Liège site”, declares the communication service of the City.

As a reminder, the tram extension will extend from Place Coronmeuse to Place Licourt. Four stations will be erected on the route, which will pass through the boulevards Zénobe Gramme and Ernest Solvay.
