Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, revealed the contacts made by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry with his counterparts in Iran, Israel, and the United States of America, to contain the crisis.

Abu Zeid wrote on the X website: “Intensive Egyptian contacts with Iran, Israel, and the United States of America to contain the crisis. Egypt demands restraint and to spare the region from further factors of tension and instability.”

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry made two phone calls today, Sunday, with Hussein Amir Abdollahian, Iranian Foreign Minister, and Israel Katz, Israeli Foreign Minister, in connection with the dangerous military escalation witnessed in recent hours as a result of the launch of offensive Iranian marches against… Israeli targets.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed Egypt’s deep concern as a result of the continued state of unprecedented military escalation between Iran and Israel in a way that threatens the situation to get out of control, threaten the stability of the region, and endanger the interests of its people.

He also stated that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a telephone call today with Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America, and discussed developments in the situation in the region in connection with the launch of offensive Iranian marches against Israeli targets, and the increasing escalation witnessed in recent weeks against the backdrop of the Gaza Strip crisis.
