The Egyptian Minister of Immigration, Soha Gendi, held an emergency meeting of the “Permanent National Committee for the Follow-up of Egyptian Students Abroad” to discuss finding ways and mechanisms to deal with the crisis of Egyptian university students in Sudan, following the current clashes there.

The committee is working to limit the exact numbers of students studying in Sudan, their whereabouts, and to assess the extent of the danger they are currently exposed to, according to developments, to prepare a report on the situation and to consider comprehensive research and evaluation to study the possibility of developing an urgent evacuation plan according to the situation and developments in an objective and rapid manner.
