Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Committee: Egypt warned Israel three days before the attack

“We understand that Egypt warned Israel three days ago that this type of incident might occur,” Michael McCaul told reporters following lawmakers received a closed-door briefing on the crisis.

McCaul noted that Hamas may have been planning the attack for up to a year.
“We’re not sure how we didn’t notice. We’re not sure how Israel didn’t notice.”
