In its sixth session, the El Gouna Film Festival organized a dinner party to collect donations for humanitarian aid in Gaza, coordinated by the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. A number of art stars and film makers attended, including Engineer Samih Sawiris Yousra, Elham Shaheen, Amir Al-Masry, Bishri, Amr Mansi, executive director and co-founder of the El Gouna Festival, Palestinian director Rashid Al-Mashharawi, Ahmed Hatem, Intishal Al-Tamimi, director of the El Gouna Festival, and director Marianne Khoury.
An exceptional session of the El Gouna Film Festival will be held following it was postponed from the scheduled date last October due to the events in Gaza, following the Mahdi program was added to Palestinian cinema, in addition to the festival program, to include the screening of a group of films regarding Palestine in cooperation with the Palestine Film Institute.
The sixth session of the El Gouna Film Festival includes 23 films in the Feature Narrative Competition, 15 films in the Feature Documentary Competition, and 14 films in the Short Film Competition, in addition to a group of films shown outside the competition.
