Elections in La Pampa: Ziliotto won and Peronism retained the province

The elections to elect governor and other provincial offices closed this afternoon in La Pampa, in a day that passed normally and in which it is estimated that 70% of the electoral roll, made up of almost 300,000 citizens, voted.

Governor Sergio Ziliotto finally obtained re-election and maintained Peronist hegemony in the district, after achieving 47 percent of the votes, while his rival from Together for Change, Martín Berhongaray was left with 40 and already conceded defeat. .

The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, greeted the re-elected governor Sergio Ziliotto on Twitter: “Congratulations @ZiliottoSergio dear. Working for industrial development, banking the gas pipeline as the country’s dream and advancing in production even with the drought, has a reward”.

How La Pampa voted and what was at stake

The La Pampa register had 298,050 people authorized to vote at the 889 polling stations spread throughout the province and, on this occasion, the register included 15,883 new voters: 1,272 16-year-olds; 4,299 of 17; 4,957 of 18 and 5,355 of 19.

The province put 925 positions at stake between holders and substitutes: governor and lieutenant governor; 40 for deputies; 61 for mayors, 519 for councillors, 18 for presidents of development commissions, 90 for members and 195 for judges and justices of the peace.

17 political forces competed, between parties and fronts. Six do so for the positions of governor and lieutenant governor: Pampas Justicialista Front (502 List), Juntos por el Cambio-La Pampa Front (501 List), Left and Workers Front (503 List), Pampas Federalist Movement (7 List) , Organized Community (List 94) and Desde El Pie (List 115).
