Rio de Janeiro – At least eleven people were killed in a police operation in a favela in the Brazilian metropolis of Rio de Janeiro. Among them is said to have been a leading drug dealer who had been on the run since 2019, as the news portal “G1” reported on Thursday. He was responsible for a series of attacks that have killed several security forces in the state of Pará in the north of the country since 2021.
