Lebanese international fashion designer Elie Saab revealed his intention to establish projects in his country, and his willingness to secure 600 job opportunities for young people in Beirut before the end of 2025.
Saab spoke in an exclusive interview with “Sky News Arabia” from the headquarters of the US Embassy north of Beirut, on the sidelines of the honoring ceremony held in his honor by the US Ambassador to Lebanon, Dorothy Shea, as part of the “Meeting with an Artist” evening.
Saab said, “I am currently working for Lebanon. This is one of my priorities. I decided to invest in the Lebanese youth and secure suitable job opportunities for them in their country.”
He added, “I believe very much in the capabilities, experiences and culture of young people, and I am working to secure job opportunities for 600 young men and women in the field of fashion design and others.”
Saab revealed several projects he is working on, in addition to his famous works that bear his signature, whether in the world of cars, interior engineering designs, or in the field of “lifestyle”, furnishings, and perfumes.

And Saab continued, “There are new projects on the way that I will leave as a surprise and will reveal them successively.”
The international fashion designer called on the Lebanese, wherever they are in the world, to stand by their country in these circumstances if they could, and to work to increase job opportunities in Lebanon without hesitation.
He expressed his pride in launching his work from his country, wishing that “Lebanon will return to its former days of glory.”
Saab considered that “Nothing is appropriate for Beirut except the title of the capital of beauty, and it is not appropriate for it except for life. I have been working for more than 3 years on important projects for Lebanon, and I stress the development of the Lebanese local industry under the slogan Made in Lebanon.”
He continued, “I have previously placed my hand in the hands of Lebanese universities, and we have established specializations in the art of fashion design with some of them, and I am proud of that and this act because of my belief in the successful Lebanese youth in various parts of the world.”

On the other hand, Saab believed that “the secret of any success lies in promoting and conveying the concept of the world of commerce and sound management of the business world before talent,” stressing “the importance of properly managing talent.”
He continued, “If I were not a fashion designer, I would be an architect. Beautiful details attract me, and I thought it was natural for me to own a professional fashion house in my name.”
He added, “Today I have this house that bears my name in the world of designs, and it includes a large team of specialists and has a great prestige in the world. We have more than 20 projects around the world in the fashion house that I have always aspired to establish.”
However, Saab criticized the use of technology in drawing and fashion design, adding: “I hope that it will stop at this point so that the field remains open to work in various professions for the skilled and artistic workforce.”
He concluded: “The pen and paper and the human touch have their own pleasure in the art of drawing and fashion design for me.”
