After a multi-year tour that saw the band bring their heavy metal power to Europe, Canada and the USA, Australians ELM STREET are finally returning with their third album: “The Great Tribulation”! The album will be released on October 27, 2023 via Massacre Records.
Following a recently released first album single, “Take The Night”, the foursome is presenting a brand new music video today „The Price Of War“! The second single release „The Great Tribulation“ is a thrash/groove metal hybrid in which the band looks at the status of conflicts overseas and asks who the real winners and losers are (if there are any in the war). The song opens with a machine gun intro thanks to Tomislav Perkovic’s lightning-fast double bass, before the band settles into a groove and showcases their musical skills in a melodic and technical middle section.
The term “The Price Of War” is complex because it is not only aimed at those who profit from the business of war.” comments the band, “but also highlights the human cost that comes from fighting for someone else’s profit.

“The Great Tribulation” is a soundtrack for troubled times or like a charred mirror reflecting the state of the world today. But it also comments on the dark sides of life, paired with the band’s most demanding and violent songs to date. While the first two ELM STREET albums, “Barbed Wire Metal” and “Knock ‘Em Out… With A Metal Fist”, are revered by fans of traditional heavy metal as modern classics, “The Great Tribulation” attempts to live up to the standards set by the previous two albums Skipping the bar and going one better: On “The Great Tribulation” the band is in top form; ELM STREET have spared no effort to express their diverse musical palette.

The Great Tribulation was recorded at the legendary Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne and may even be one of the last albums recorded there. Luke Cincotta (Airbourne, The Amity Affliction, Butterfly Effect, Karnivool, Northlane) was the master behind the mixing desk, and German legend Michael Mainx (Toxpack, Tankard, Destruction) mixed the album. The eye-catching front cover was drawn by Andreas Marschall (Kreator, In Flames, Sodom, Blind Guardian), the album design and other artwork came from Dark Prince Graphix.
