But the city of San Francisco did not appreciate this umpteenth change. She filed a complaint and opened an investigation, reveals the AP news agency. Municipal authorities believe that replacing letters or symbols on buildings or placing a sign on top of a building requires a permit.
“The installation of this panel also requires the examination and approval of the urban plan”, assures Patrick Hannan, the spokesman of the department of building inspection.
A first operation interrupted

However, AP indicates that the agents had not put tape on the ground in order to protect pedestrians in the event of a fall of a letter. It is for this reason that the operation was interrupted.
But this time, installing a giant X on the roof of the company’s headquarters could have far-reaching consequences. Because Elon Musk had to have a permit to proceed with this installation. An authorization that he obviously did not have according to the city, which took up the file.
