Elon Musk’s Starlink in Gaza: Israeli Approval and Anti-Semitism Online – Latest Updates

2023-11-27 10:35:07

According to Israeli information, US entrepreneur Elon Musk will only use his Starlink satellite communications system in the Gaza Strip with Israeli approval. Musk had basically agreed on this with the Ministry of Communications, wrote Minister Shlomo Karhi on Musk’s Platform X (Twitter). Musk will visit Israel today and meet with President Yitzhak Herzog.

Musk announced at the end of October that he wanted to use his company SpaceX’s communications system to help restore interrupted communication with internationally recognized aid organizations in the Gaza Strip. Israel then declared that it wanted to prevent this by all possible means. The reason is that the Islamist Hamas would abuse the system for terrorist purposes.

According to his office, Herzog wants to emphasize the need to “take action once morest increasing anti-Semitism on the Internet” at the meeting with Musk. Musk has attracted attention in recent months with anti-Semitic posts on his platform.
