Elon, N.C. – The Elon University track and field program has announced its 2023-24 schedule, highlighted by hosting the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship May 10-11. Elon won the inaugural CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship a year ago and earned its third consecutive CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in May.
Elon Track & Field Schedule
Elon begins defense of its titles during the first weekend of December, competing at Liberty on Dec. 1 and at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Dec. 2 and 3. Elon will return to JDL Fast Track numerous times during the indoor campaign as well as competing at Virginia Tech. The CAA Indoor Championship will be held Feb. 22-23 at Nike New York Armory in New York, N.Y. The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be March 8-9 in Boston, Mass.
Elon’s outdoor season begins March 1-2 at the UNCW Invite and the Phoenix will host its own Phoenix Invite on March 22. Elon will compete each weekend throughout the spring, highlighted by visits to North Carolina State, High Point, Duke, Wake Forest, North Carolina A&T, Charlotte and Penn. All of that leads to the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Elon May 10-11. The NCAA East Region Preliminaries will be May 22-25 in Lexington, Ky. prior to the NCAA Championship June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
A year ago, Elon won the first triple crown in CAA history, taking home the conference championship in women’s cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field. Earlier this fall, Elon won its fifth straight CAA women’s cross country championship as the Phoenix took the first leg of a second consecutive triple crown.
