The Israeli army began forcibly evacuating the sick, wounded, and doctors from the Shifa complex in Gaza, after giving them a deadline to evacuate, as some of them left on foot.
The emergency supervisor at the Shifa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip confirmed that the Israeli army “asked to leave the hospital and not everyone was able to leave,” noting that “a number of those who were in the hospital left and others remained, including the wounded and sick,” after a request from the Israeli army to evacuate it. .
In turn, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza explained, in an interview with Al Jazeera, that “a number of doctors and wounded are still in the Shifa Complex.”
He pointed out that “five doctors are still in the Al-Shifa Complex to supervise the process of coordinating the exit of the wounded,” noting that “until now, we have walked a distance of 2 kilometers, and the area is completely destroyed.”
The director of the Al-Shifa Complex in Gaza confirmed, in a statement to Anadolu Agency, that the evacuation operations had begun from the complex following the one-hour deadline given by the Israeli army to evacuate the sick, wounded, displaced, and medical personnel.
Earlier, the head of the orthopedic surgery department inside Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, Adnan Al-Bursh, confirmed that “the occupation informed us of the evacuation of the hospital of employees, patients and wounded.”
This comes at a time when the Israeli army continues to besiege the hospital after storming it, coinciding with the targeting of hospitals in the Gaza Strip in light of a health catastrophe, with the Israeli war continuing since last October 7.
Yesterday, the head of the burns department at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, Ahmed Mufid Al-Makhalati, accused the Israeli forces of stealing a number of bodies from inside the medical complex, whose director, Muhammad Abu Salamiya, confirmed that everyone in it was being subjected to genocide.
For his part, the head of the orthopedic department at Al-Shifa Hospital said that there are more than 200 wounded in the orthopedic department who are at risk of death.
