ABU DHABI, 19 March / WAM / H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, discussed during a phone call with Liz Truss, British Foreign Secretary, relations of friendship and partnership between the two countries and the prospects for joint cooperation and ways to enhance it to serve their mutual interests.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and global developments, and discussed a number of issues of common concern, developments on the Ukrainian arena and the importance of supporting efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis, in addition to intensifying efforts to support the humanitarian needs of affected civilians in Ukraine.
His Highness and the British Foreign Minister also discussed the file of the stability of global energy and food markets.
During the phone call, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s keenness to enhance regional and international security and stability and its support for all efforts made to reach a political settlement to the crisis in Ukraine. He pointed out the importance of intensifying efforts to confront the humanitarian repercussions of the crisis and meet the needs Humanitarianism for affected civilians in Ukraine.
