Emirates News Agency – Abdullah bin Zayed meets a number of foreign ministers in New York

New York, September 23 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met separately in New York with a number of foreign ministers of the countries participating in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

His Highness met with Jose Manuel Alparís, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Candia Camara, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cote d’Ivoire, Enrique Manalo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Julio Cesar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Hajja Labeeb, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, Don Parmodiwani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Mokhtar Tlioberdi, Deputy The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Vubke Hoekstra, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, His Excellency Ranko Krivokapić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, and His Excellency Sirajuddin Mehriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

His Highness’ talks with their Excellencies the Foreign Ministers dealt with a number of issues on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly, including climate change, food security challenges and energy supply chains, in addition to efforts to maintain international peace and security.

During the meetings, they discussed bilateral relations, partnerships and cooperation paths between the UAE and these countries in several fields, including renewable energy, investment, economic, educational, tourism, cultural and technology.

The ministers were also briefed on the efforts of the UAE in the climate change file and its preparations to host the COP 28 Conference next year.

The meetings were attended by Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Mohammed Al Sayegh, Minister of State.
