Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi Polytechnic and “COMTIA” cooperate to develop students’ skills in information technology

ABU DHABI, 1st of August / WAM / Abu Dhabi Polytechnic of the Institute of Applied Technology has signed a new partnership agreement in the information technology sector, with Comtia in the Middle East and Africa; The leading provider of voice services and certifications for the global information technology system to develop the skills of citizen students in information technology.

The agreement, which was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Manan Al Awar, Director General of the Institute of Applied Technology at the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, was signed by Dr. Ali Hilal Al Naqbi, Director of Abu Dhabi Polytechnic of the Institute of Applied Technology, and Yasser Al Qabbani, Regional Director of Comtia in the Middle East and Africa.

Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Manan Al-Awar said that this partnership is of great importance in granting graduates of the Bachelor of Information Systems Technology at the Polytechnic; Required certificates in the fields of information technology and specialized international institutions, which encourages national students to join this important specialization at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, and then graduate more specialized national cadres capable of meeting the requirements of Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and the country’s strategic plans.

Dr. Ali Hilal Al Naqbi explained that under this agreement, Comtia will provide full sponsorship for one new student of people of determination to study information technology at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic for one year for the first time. To obtain the aforementioned industrial certificates, in addition to providing new mechanisms for professional development, training materials and examination forms, which reflect the close compatibility between industry and education, leading to highly qualified outputs in the main roles and tasks of information technology, especially compatibility with the accelerating global technological skills.

For his part, Eng. Yasser Al-Qabbani said, “This partnership is the beginning of a new and unique way to prepare Emirati students for the labor market in the United Arab Emirates, by providing them with internationally recognized certificates in the IT industry, which will support the vision of the United Arab Emirates, as well as encourage People of Determination to study this important field.”
