Emirates News Agency – Activities of the 19th edition of “Sharjah Heritage Days” continue

Sharjah, March 21 / WAM / The activities of the 19th edition of Sharjah Heritage Days will continue in the Heritage Square in the heart of Sharjah, which is vibrant with many heritage activities, artistic performances, and various cultural and academic programs, with thousands of visitors and heritage lovers flocked in the second week from all cities and parts of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE.

In this regard, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Head of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage in the Heart of Sharjah, opened the art exhibition organized by the Emirates Society for Fine Arts under the title “Windows from Antiquities Museums” by the artist Aisha Al Suwaidi, and it includes a group of selected paintings through her various visits to a number of antiquities museums in the country.

The exhibition seeks to confirm the cultural and historical depth of the UAE through the archaeological artifacts discovered in it from the middle of the last century until now, which reveals the richness of the UAE’s heritage in its four mountainous, marine, desert and agricultural environments. Each painting in the exhibition embodies a different and distinctive artifact to bear Messages for future generations regarding the history of the archeology of the Emirates, including its unique aesthetic, scientific and cognitive value.

As part of the cultural café sessions, a cultural session was held on the future of heritage in the UAE, in which the artist and poet Khaled Al-Badour, advisor at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, Emirati plastic artist Dr. Muhammad Yousef, and the Mauritanian author and academic researcher Muhammad Muhammad Ali participated.

The cultural café witnessed the signing and launch of the new book by artist Mohammed Al-Ostad (Fradis Al Sharq .. Artistic Creations for the Eastern Region in the Emirate of Sharjah), which includes a variety of attractive artistic drawings of the vocabulary of the place in the various cities and regions of the eastern region of the Emirate: Kalba, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al-Hisn, Al-Nahha and Wadi Al-Helou.

The Western House in the Heart of Sharjah hosted Dr. Issam Faraj Al-Najdi, a professor in the field of cultural heritage, an expert in cultural heritage and a consultant for museums management, who spoke regarding the sustainable development agenda of the United Nations in the field of museum work.

At the Heritage Square in the vibrant heart of Sharjah, the children got to know the story of the “Wonderful Wedding,” where they met the author of the story, the 12-year-old Emirati student, Rayman Abdullah Ibrahim, who gave them a copy of her story and recently won first place in the “Tales from My Heritage” competition.
