ABU DHABI, 24th February, 2020 (WAM) — Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Al Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Energy in Abu Dhabi, affirmed that the commercial operation of the third Barakah Peaceful Nuclear Energy Plant is a new Emirati achievement that contributes to both economic growth and sustainability in the country.
His Excellency said on this occasion: “Within a decade, three of the four stations in Barakah have been commercially operated, and the stations have become one of the basic components of the clean energy system in the UAE, which relies on multiple carbon-free technologies, in addition to its contribution to ensuring reliability, efficiency and flexibility.” the country’s electricity grid over the coming decades.
Al-Rumaithi expressed his pride in the Emirati competencies working in the Barakah plants, who were able to shorten the time and acquire the knowledge, experience and skills that qualify them to become the future leadership of the nuclear energy sector in the country.
