Jakarta, 7 October / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, met with His Excellency Suss Yara, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Media in the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Council On the sidelines of the eighth summit of the heads of parliaments of the Group of Twenty, held in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.
During the meeting, it was emphasized the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the Federal National Council and the Cambodian National Assembly, and the importance of activating the role of friendship committees to push cooperation relations between the two sides to broader horizons, and to coordinate in parliamentary forums on issues of common interest.
The two sides stressed the need to strengthen cooperation and consolidate relations with the parliaments of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations “ASEAN” in various fields, events and activities, especially parliamentary ones.
