ABU DHABI, July 7 / WAM / Asian stock markets rose at the close of trading today, with improved investor sentiment following the gains of the US Wall Street Stock Exchange yesterday.
The Japanese Nikkei index closed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, up by 1.47%, or 382.88 points, to reach 26490.53 points, while the broader Topix index rose by 1.42%, equivalent to 26.36 points, to close at 1882.33 points.
The Chinese Hang Seng Index rose 0.26%, equivalent to 56.92 points, to reach the level of 21643.58 points, while the “ESI” Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange increased by 9.05 points, or 0.27%, to close at 3364.4 points.
