ABU DHABI, 9th March, 2020 (WAM) — The Authority for Social Contribution, Ma’an, held the Abu Dhabi Social Responsibility Ceremony, in appreciation of individuals and institutions for their contributions to the authority, as the government channel concerned in Abu Dhabi to receive contributions from the public, private and civil society sectors, to identify the social priorities identified in the emirate.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Salama Al Amimi, Director General of the Authority for Community Contributions – “Together”, as well as leaders of the social sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and more than 250 individual contributors and representatives of institutions and companies, in addition to representatives A number of volunteer work institutions in the emirate.
During the ceremony, which was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel, individual and corporate shareholders who made their financial contributions to the Social Investment Fund were honored.
The ceremony included the launch of the “Abu Dhabi Sign for Social Responsibility”, which is an acknowledgment by the “Ma’an” Authority and the social sector in the emirate of the great credit of the shareholders, who numbered (169) high-income shareholders and (62) companies operating in the country, and their efforts contributed All of them contribute to the advancement of many programs that address several social priorities in the emirate.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, affirmed that the wise leadership continues its support for the social sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to move forward towards advancing the sustainable social development process, and to continue advancing the role of all institutions to contribute to enhancing the quality of life, which consolidates the position of Abu Dhabi is a preferred destination for living, working and settling.
His Excellency said: “The social sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi works to promote a culture of participation, community contribution and social innovations, in order to lead to a decent life for all members of society, through a set of various initiatives and programs implemented by the department, agencies and partners, and contribute to consolidating the concepts of community cohesion.”
His Excellency the Chairman of the Department of Community Development added that the Authority for Community Contribution “Ma’an” succeeded in creating innovative opportunities to solve many social challenges, by involving individuals and institutions from the government and private sectors, as well as associations and civil institutions of public interest, which contributed to achieving a positive impact and finding solutions. He praised the achievements of the “Together We Are Good” program launched by the Authority for Community Contributions “Together” in 2020, which made it one of the most important support programs and social contributions in the region.
His Excellency appreciated the efforts made by the shareholders to achieve a positive impact on society, stressing that the contributions made, both financial and in-kind, as well as moral, are appreciated and appreciated. He indicated that community cohesion is a major reason for the sustainability of social development.
For her part, Her Excellency Salama Al-Amimi, Director General of the Authority for Social Contribution – “Ma’an”, praised the great support and attention given by the wise leadership to the initiatives and programs of the Authority, aimed at achieving the vision of a cooperative and comprehensive society for all residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

About 700,000 community members in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi have benefited from the financial allocations for various social programs and initiatives, which were provided by the “Together” Authority since its establishment in 2019 through the Social Investment Fund, and other axes that drive societal change, and have a positive, sustainable and long-term impact.
