BRASILIA, Feb 18 (WAM) — The death toll from landslides and floods caused by torrential rains in Brazil’s mountainous Rio region has risen to at least 120.
The fire department said today that among the victims were 20 children, while 24 people were rescued and hundreds of residents were taken to more than 30 collection points.
Rio de Janeiro’s civil defense minister said firefighters believed they could still find survivors.
