He added that this sector is an important driver of the global economy, as 95% of manufactured goods depend on petrochemicals. Despite the crisis that the world witnessed during the year 2020 and the delay in economic recovery, the sector is set for significant growth in the coming decades. The industrial sector in the UAE, which focuses on exports, is witnessing major developments that will be supported by the new production capacity of polypropylene thanks to the increase in production in 2022.

He pointed out that events such as the GPCA conference provide an opportunity to attract local and international companies, which will promote the growth of Jafza and Jebel Ali Port as a preferred regional center for the petrochemical sector in the region.

With its superior handling capabilities, Jebel Ali Port supports more than 65% of the GCC’s polymer industries exports and 33% of their petrochemical exports. cubic meter of liquid material.
