Emirates News Agency – Dubai CommerCity showcases its latest technology trends at Seamless Middle East 2022

DUBAI, 31 May / WAM / Dubai CommerCity, the first free zone specialized in the e-commerce sector in the region, stressed the importance of integrating the latest technologies into its services, during its participation as a partner and exhibitor at Seamless Middle East 2022.

The free zone is keen to adopt advanced technologies to facilitate the establishment of new e-commerce companies and promote the growth of the sector.

Representatives from Dubai CommerCity, a member of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority and a joint venture with wasl Asset Management Group, delivered a set of keynote presentations and participated in panel discussions on the most prominent developments and topics in the e-commerce sector.

Abdul Rahman Shaheen, Executive Vice President of Operations at Dubai Commercity, presented the advantages of establishing an e-commerce company in the free zone, in which he discussed the role of blockchain technologies in facilitating commercial transactions, highlighting the cooperation agreement between Dubai Commercity and Dubai Customs to launch a blockchain node for the free zone. …and node features will be made available to tenants in the Dubai Commercity area to significantly reduce the costs of implementing their operations and enable them to benefit from operational efficiencies.

Mitch Peterman, Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations, Dubai CommerCity, gave a presentation titled Global Trends in E-Commerce and Retail and Their Resilience to the Middle East.

Peterman indicated that some of the most important e-commerce trends are conversational commerce, multi-service applications and metaverses, while the retail sector includes many trends, including beacon technology, digital mall, contactless shopping, and mini-charging centers within malls.

It is worth noting that Seamless Middle East 2022 brings together hundreds of representatives of startups, innovators and entrepreneurs in the fields of financial technology, e-commerce and retail.
