DUBAI, 28th April / WAM / A delegation from the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority “Dubai Culture” attended the opening of the exhibition of the National Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates in the 59th edition of the “Venice Biennale”, which was held under the title “Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim: Between Sunrise and Sunset” and presented a work A new installation by Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim.

The Dubai Culture delegation, which included Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, Executive Director of the Arts and Letters Sector at Dubai Culture, Naglaa Post, Rafia Al Suwaidi and Shamma Al Zaffin, visited the main area of ​​the Venice Biennale to view the main hall of the exhibition, which was held under the title “Milk of Dreams.” And he reviewed the exhibits of the pavilions of a number of participating countries.

The delegation also attended the opening of the exhibition organized by “Abu Dhabi Art” under the title “Horizons: Emerging Artists”, at the Cavalli Franchitti Palace in Venice, in conjunction with the Venice Biennale 2022, which was inaugurated by Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, in the presence of three artists from the UAE, including Maitha. Abdullah, Hashel Al-Lamki and Christopher Joshua Benton.

The delegation also visited the Peggy Guggenham Museum in Venice and viewed the permanent collection there and the temporary exhibition related to the theme of the Venice Biennale of Surreal Art; Where they saw surrealist artwork from all over Europe and the West, including the works of Leonara Carrington.. The delegation of “Dubai Culture” also visited the Doge’s Palace, and viewed contemporary art installations by German painter and sculptor Anselm Kiefer.
