DUBAI, 30th January, 2020 (WAM) — The Emirates Health Services Corporation has cooperated with the “Schneider Electric” company – the global specialist in the digital transformation of energy management and automation – and the “Microsoft” company to launch the first digital twin system designed for hospitals in the UAE, called “Echo Structure for Healthcare”, with the aim of Improving sustainability, efficiency and patient care levels, providing detailed and real-time information on a range of medical metrics.
This came on the sidelines of the three entities’ participation in the “Arab Health Exhibition and Conference 2023”, which kicked off today at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Mubaraka Ibrahim, Acting Executive Director of the Information Sector at the Emirates Health Services Corporation, said: “Our cooperation with Schneider Electric and Microsoft will enable the organization to improve patient comfort and safety, increase energy efficiency and promote sustainable health. By presenting a proof-of-concept of Digital Twins, Schneider Electric aims to demonstrate how new digital tools can help hospitals reduce their carbon footprint and become more sustainable with energy savings of up to 30%.

The Digital Twin system is designed to be able to respond and adapt to the needs of individuals and patients and contribute to creating safer and healthier healthcare facilities and improving patient care levels.
A 2022 report issued by the World Government Summit in collaboration with McKinsey indicates that increased adoption of digital healthcare technology will unlock nearly $10 billion in the Middle East and $230 billion in investments in the health sector globally over the next four years.
