NEW YORK, June 11 / WAM / Gasoline prices in the United States of America soared to unprecedented levels, with the average price per gallon nationwide exceeding $5 for the first time ever in US history.

According to a statement issued by the Automobile Club of America “AAA”, the average price of gasoline today is $5, while its price in some American cities has reached the threshold of $7 per gallon and more at some stations.

The national average price jumped 19 cents just last week, up regarding $1.93 from this time last year.
