DOHA, November 27 / WAM / The German national team imposed a 1-1 draw on its Spanish counterpart at the end of the second round matches of Group E of the 2022 World Cup, during the meeting that was held at Al Bayt Stadium in Doha on Sunday evening.
The Spanish national team was the first to score in the 62nd minute through Alvaro Morata from a cross by Jordi Alba. But Niklas Volkrug equalized the score for the German national team in the 83rd minute, with a missile to the right of goalkeeper Unai Simon.
With this result, each team put a point in its balance, raising the Spanish team to 4 points in the lead, and the German team placed the first point in its balance, but it remained fourth in the group standings, and the qualification chances remained open until the third round, with preference for the Spanish team.
The Spanish national team will meet in the third round next Thursday with its Japanese counterpart (3 points second), and the German national team with Costa Rica (3 points third).
