ABU DHABI, 18th October / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, affirmed that the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, have made the UAE one of the most effective and influential countries in humanitarian affairs around the world. Al Mazrouei stressed that this development initiative comes as an extension of the efforts of the UAE to stand by the brotherly Palestinian people.. He pointed out that the state has been present on the Palestinian arena from an early age, and its humanitarian programs and development projects in Palestine have occupied a large area of the efforts it is making on the international humanitarian arena. He said that these programs and projects are diverse, as they come in addition to relief operations that provided food, medicine and shelter materials, construction and development projects and reconstruction programs, while the Jenin camp reconstruction project is on top of major projects that provided adequate housing for thousands of families who are currently enjoying the blessing of stability after It was reunited with the teacher housing project in Jerusalem, and other projects in Khan Yunis, Beit Hanoun, Rafah and other governorates.
His Excellency stressed that the health aspect in Palestine has received great attention from the UAE, which has worked to establish many hospitals and health centers, including Sheikh Zayed Surgical Hospital in Ramallah, Sheikha Salama Eye Hospital in Nablus, Rafah Charitable Hospital, Al Nada Medical Center and Tubas Hospital in the West Bank. In addition to providing dozens of ambulances to the Palestinian Red Crescent and a number of hospitals and health institutions, the state has not neglected projects that contribute to the rehabilitation and integration of people of determination into society, especially since their numbers in Palestine have increased in recent years due to injuries caused by the current events there. A number of rehabilitation centers, including the Sheikha Fatima Center for the Disabled in Hebron, the Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled in Beit Lahia in Gaza, and the Sheikh Khalifa Center for the Disabled in Nablus.
