Emirates News Agency – Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance participates in the Education Transformation Summit in New York

NEW YORK, 3rd October / WAM/ The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance participated in the Education Transformation Summit recently hosted by the United Nations in New York.

The Foundation was represented at the summit by Dr. Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, who participated in a number of its seminars and presented a presentation in which he summarized the most important recommendations for the future of teachers in the world.

Prior to the convening of the World Summit, the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance was selected as a member of the higher committee that prepared the conference and continued for a period of 6 months.

The Foundation participated in the preparation of specialized research on the themes of the summit and presented it first at the Conference of Ministers of Education that was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris last June. .

Dr. Jamal Al Muhairi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Secretary-General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Educational Performance, said: “Our participation in the work of the Education Summit comes within the framework of the efforts of the UAE government and the directives of our wise leadership to devote efforts to support education in its various stages to keep pace with technical and scientific development. Believing in the necessity of advancing education to achieve sustainable development goals.. Our participation is at the heart of the Foundation’s goals aimed at improving the quality of education.

He added: “The summit is one of the main initiatives in the United Nations plans that aim to advance education and mobilize efforts and solidarity in order to reach radical solutions that contribute to overcoming the effects of educational losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the education of more than 90% of the world’s children, according to what was stated. In the statistics presented, in addition to laying the foundations for transforming education to keep pace with the rapid changes in the whole world.

Several initiatives were announced during the summit, including the Digital Learning Gateways initiative, a global multi-partner initiative aimed at creating and promoting digital learning platforms launched by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in addition to the commitment of Member States. Partners work for education in crisis situations, and to transform education systems to better prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises. In addition, the Greening Education Partnership initiative was launched, which aims to prepare learners to acquire knowledge, skills, values ​​and attitudes to tackle climate change and promote sustainable development.

There were also calls for action to address the learning crisis through basic education and to support gender equality through education and in education.
