– Italian Foreign Minister: 360,000 visits to the Italian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai within 5 weeks.
DUBAI, 25th November / WAM/ The Republic of Italy celebrated its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai, in the presence of a high-level Italian delegation presented by His Excellency Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy, and His Excellency Paolo Gilcenti, Commissioner-General of the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai – who attended the celebration – welcomed the Italian delegation, and the ceremony began with the playing of the UAE national anthem and the national anthem of the Republic of Italy and raising the flags of both countries in Al Wasl Square, in the heart of the Expo 2020 Dubai site. .
The activities of the celebration of the National Day of the Republic of Italy included a performance by the Italian National Gendarmerie “The Carabinieri”, which included a variety of Italian musicals that dazzled the audience with their beauty and splendor.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said: “Italy’s rich history and culture have inspired artists, writers and innovators from all over the world through the ages, and this is reflected in the uniquely designed Italy Pavilion. Titled ‘Beauty Unites People’, the pavilion is a captivating showcase of arts and culture together. He shares Italy’s enchanting concept of beauty with our visitors through uniquely curated content, and articulates precisely how innovation and culture intertwine.”
His Excellency added: “At Expo 2020 Dubai, Italy’s multidisciplinary approach and its pavilion’s focus on educational, commercial and cultural opportunities as a priority, open new doors for further cooperation between our two countries that will ensure the progress and prosperity of our two peoples.”
For his part, Luigi Di Maio expressed his happiness at being at Expo 2020 Dubai to attend his country’s National Day celebration in this place where world cultures meet and share achievements and innovations in science, technology and business.
He stressed that holding Expo 2020 Dubai for the first time in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region will provide unique opportunities for work, especially with the return of tourism, business recovery and the flow of investments. His Excellency said: “The Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is rich in activities and themes that fit the Expo 2020 Dubai logo.”
He added: “We believe that beauty was born in Italy through the creativity of our people, which is reflected in Italian manufacturing, scientific and technological innovations. By sharing, we will highlight Italy’s diversity thanks to the contribution of all Italian regions.”
His Excellency Di Maio said that the Italian pavilion received about 360,000 visitors in the first five weeks of its opening, with an average of 10,000 visits per day, pointing out that the pavilion is one of the most visited and appreciated pavilions by visitors.
His Excellency spoke about the events that the Italian pavilion will organize at Expo 2020 Dubai throughout the international event, such as the “Innovation Dialogue”, which was designed as a platform for Italian companies to showcase their contribution to various global innovations, as well as business forums that will address the topics of technology, environment, space, food and agriculture and review opportunities for cooperation between Italian businessmen and their counterparts in the UAE.
