Emirates News Agency – Japan’s Nikkei rises after falling 4 consecutive sessions

ABU DHABI, June 16 / WAM / The Japanese Nikkei index rose at the end of trading today, Thursday, on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, following a decline that continued for 4 consecutive sessions.

The Nikkei index rose 0.4%, equivalent to 105.04 points, to close at 26431.2 points.

The broader Topix index increased by 0.64%, or 11.88 points, to close at 1867.81 points.

The rise of Japanese indices comes in the wake of the US Federal Reserve’s announcement, yesterday evening, to raise interest rates by 75 basis points.
