Sharjah, 7 July / WAM/ His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, inaugurated yesterday the second phase of the punitive and correctional facilities ordered by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The opening was attended by Brigadier General Saeed Ali Lootah, Acting Director General of Punitive and Correctional Institutions in the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Ahmed Abdulaziz Shuhail, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institution Department at Sharjah Police, a number of specialized officers in the institution, a number of representatives of the Sharjah Public Works Department, Sharjah Cooperative Society and Buraq subsidiary company. The inauguration began with a tour of the corridors of the new building, a view of the residence areas of the institution’s inmates, and to learn about the services it contains, including clinics equipped with the best medical equipment, services for delivering documents for released inmates, services for providing food supplies and issuing bank cards for inmates.
His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and the attendees were also briefed on the highly efficient security and digital systems, the central operating room and the mechanisms used to transport inmates, as well as the Al-Amal vehicle, which is concerned with transporting sick and elderly inmates from the administration of the penal and correctional institution to health authorities.
At the conclusion of his tour, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police stressed that the responsibility of the Sharjah Police towards caring for the rights of the institution’s inmates is great, and that the services that are provided are nothing but a reflection of the noble human values and principles of the UAE towards people without regard to their nationality, religion or race.. Major General Al Shamsi praised the continuous support of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and his continuous interest in the Sharjah Police and the follow-up of its efforts in all fields.
On the sidelines of the opening, His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police honored four of the Foundation’s affiliates for their excellence and dedication to work and their distinguished role in raising the work environment.
