Emirates News Agency – Mazayna Razeen, the second leg of Al Dhafra Festival, kicks off tomorrow

ABU DHABI, 19th November, 2019 (WAM) — Tomorrow morning, “Sunday,” the Razeen Mazaina competitions, “the second leg,” will start at the 16th session of Al Dhafra Festival, and will continue until November 27th, organized by the Festivals Management Committee and Cultural and Heritage Programs in Abu Dhabi.
Razeen’s competition is witnessing the organization of 75 races for the camels of His Highness the Sheikh and the sons of the tribes, including 36 races for local camels, 33 races for al-Majahim camels, and 6 races for purebred camels, within 6 age groups (Mafarid, Haqaiq, Luqaya, Etiha’, Thanaiya, Hawal). It has 705 prizes with a total value of 11 million and 415 thousand dirhams.

Over the past few days, convoys of purebred camels from localities, Majahim and Asayel hybrids from within the country and the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf began flocking to the vicinity of the Razeen site in Abu Dhabi.
Al Dhafra Festival translates the cultural vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by preserving and reviving the heritage, and reflects the strategy of the Festivals Management Committee and Cultural and Heritage Programs aimed at conveying the UAE’s civilizational and human message to the world, as well as its efforts to promote the values ​​of loyalty and belonging through the practice of the authentic Emirati heritage.
The 16th session of the Al Dhafra Festival, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” is considered the largest session since the launch of the festival in 2008. And 475 thousand dirhams, distributed over competitions for local camels, al-Majahim, purebred camels, al-Wudh and al-Mahalib, within 4 competitions in Sweihan, Razeen, Madinat Zayed, and the conclusion of the Dhafra Festival.
