Fujairah, November 24, WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, witnessed the conclusion of the work of the international conference “Cities Environment – Fujairah 2022”, which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, under the slogan “ Sustainable and resilient smart city applications.
The conclusion of the conference was attended by Sheikh Saif bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Free Zone Authority, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director General of the E-Government Department in Fujairah, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness, and Her Excellency Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, His Excellency Saeed bin Muhammad Al Raqbani, Special Adviser to His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah, His Excellency Dr. Amira Al Hassan, Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council Office of the United Nations Human Settlements Program, and His Excellency Engineer Dawood Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality and Head of the Environment Center for Arab Cities, And general managers of municipalities in the country.
His Highness, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the need to constantly review and identify the changes facing the sustainability sector in the world and measure their impact on cities and their population growth, referring to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, on the importance of proposing strategies and presenting global practices that concern cities. Smart and ways to sustain it, to serve the UAE’s directions and vision in this vital field.
His Highness praised the level of topics and working papers that were reviewed and put up for discussion during the conference sessions, appreciating the role of the organizing committee of the event in attracting global expertise and exchanging information that serves the smart cities sector and its future sustainability.
More than 900 guests from more than 25 countries from around the world participated in the conference, which was organized by the Fujairah Municipality, the Fujairah Foundation for Natural Resources and the Environment Center for Arab Cities in cooperation with Dubai Municipality and the Arab Towns Organization, at the Al-Bahr Hotel and Resort in Fujairah. Among the experts, speakers, pioneers of the smart sustainable cities sector, municipal work officials and specialists.
The conclusion of the conference was attended by His Excellency Muhammad Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Emiri Diwan in Fujairah, His Excellency Salem Al Zahmi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, Eng. Muhammad Al Afkham, Director General of Fujairah Municipality, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Conference, and a group of Fujairah directors and officials.
