Emirates News Agency – “Nuclear Regulatory Authority” reviews the developments of the Barakah plant and approves international agreements

ABU DHABI, 17th October / WAM/ The Board of Directors of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation in the country was briefed, during its meeting, on the latest developments in the four units of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. recently connected to the power grid.

The Board of Directors stressed the importance of ensuring the security and safety of the operation of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant.

The Board of Directors also approved the issuance of an amended version of the Regulations Concerning Leadership and Management for Nuclear Safety in Nuclear Facilities and the Regulations Concerning Technical Services for Radiation Protection. The two regulations will enter into force following their publication in the Official Gazette.

The council agreed to sign an agreement between the authority and the French National Institute of Nuclear and Technical Sciences for cooperation in the fields of education and training in nuclear reactors, fuel and nuclear materials. Board members stressed the importance of building Emirati capabilities in this important field.
