Emirates News Agency – The Emirati medical delegation reviews the needs of the health sector in Syria

Latakia, 23rd February, 2020 (WAM) — The Emirati medical delegation headed by Dr. Salem Al-Falasi, who is in charge of following up on the special needs of the medical and health sectors in Syria, made a field tour during which they inspected the hospitals of Martyr Major General Hamza Nofal National, and Al-Basil Cardiac Diseases and Surgery, Obstetrics and Children in Lattakia Governorate, as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 2”.

The delegation was received by Dr. Hawazen Makhlouf, Director of Lattakia Health Department, Dr. Siham Makhloul, Director of the Martyr General Hamza Nawfal National Hospital, Dr. Ghayath Bodour, Medical Director of the Valiant Hospital for Heart Diseases and Surgery, Dr. Ahmed Al-Farra, Director of the Maternity and Children Hospital, and a number of officials.

The delegation was briefed on the conditions of the three hospitals, toured their various departments and facilities, and learned about the medical and treatment services they provide to patients. The hospitals’ needs for medical supplies, modern devices, and others were identified.

And Dr. Salem Al-Falasi said that the visit of the Emirati medical team, consisting of several health authorities in the country, as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 2”, comes to find out the needs of hospitals and the health sector in the Syrian Arab Republic and determine the mechanism for assistance. He indicated that the main axis is the human being and the focus is on attention. Cheers.

For his part, Dr. Hawazen Makhlouf, Director of Lattakia Health Directorate, praised the continuous interest and directives of the UAE leadership in supporting his country.
