Al Dhafra, January 23, 2020 / WAM / His Excellency Shaun Murphy, Chargé d’Affairs at the Embassy of the United States of America to the country, praised the activities and competitions hosted by the Al Dhafra Festival, which contribute to consolidating the foundations of the country’s authentic heritage, introducing the public to inherited customs and traditions, and teaching them to young generations, in order to maintain their sustainability from generation to generation. generation.

This came during his visit to the closing events and competitions of the sixteenth session of the Al Dhafra Festival, which is being held in Madinat Zayed in Al Dhafra Region, organized by the Festivals Management Committee and Cultural and Heritage Programs in Abu Dhabi.

His Excellency toured the Al Dhafra Heritage Market and learned regarding its various pavilions and activities, Al Dhafra booths (women and men), and watched part of the performances of the Abu Dhabi Folklore Band, and also witnessed part of the Grand Canyon music show by the American band Ontopka, which was held on the stage of the festival.

His Excellency the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy was accompanied during the visit by Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, Director of the Events and Communication Department in the Committee for the Management of Festivals, Cultural and Heritage Programs, and a number of embassy officials.
