The Emirates Publishers Association continues to invest in opportunities that fall within the framework of achieving its mission to represent the Emirati publisher in local, regional and international events. As the association participates in the London International Book Fair 2023 from 18 to 20 April, to open new doors for participating publishers to enhance their international presence and facilitate their entry into the global publishing markets.

Through its participation in this exhibition, the association provides a new global platform to celebrate Emirati and Arab intellectual creativity, and to support its publisher members to reach new markets.

The exhibition is considered one of the largest book markets in the world and provides publishers with an important opportunity to communicate with more than 25,000 participants including publishers, copyright and content agents, media professionals and bookstore owners from all over the world.

Regarding the association’s participation in the exhibition, its Executive Director, Rashid Al-Kous, said: “We are keen in the Emirates Publishers Association to participate in the London International Book Fair as an important opportunity to enhance the presence of Emirati and Arab writers in global markets, and to build solid relations with British and international publishers, especially since this exhibition It is considered one of the oldest and largest international exhibitions, and attracts tens of thousands of publishers annually.

He hinted that the association’s participation in this exhibition reflects its firm commitment to supporting the publishing sector in the UAE, and is part of its relentless endeavor to enable its members from local publishing houses to expand their activities globally and achieve prosperity in their work, thus contributing to advancing the publishing movement and promoting the creative economy. in the country in general.

The books displayed in the association’s pavilion include 49 of the latest titles issued by 23 publishers of its members covering various creative genres in the fields of arts, literature, knowledge, science, translations, etc., in order to enhance the access of Emirati creations to the global audience, and open horizons for publishers to form future partnerships in the field of buying and selling. and translation.

The association will host in its own pavilion a delegation comprising representatives of seven Emirati publishing houses participating in the exhibition, which are Kalimat Group, Sail Publishing House, DreamWorks Publishing House, Liberty Education, Smart Mind Publishing, Ugarit Publishing, Al Muhit Publishing House, and New Thought House.

Participants emphasized that the London International Book Fair constitutes a valuable opportunity to enhance the presence of the Emirati role in international cultural forums and to deliver its message on a global scale, in addition to communicating with international publishers and allowing them to explore the Arab publishing market in more depth. They considered that the exhibition provides an ideal platform for the exchange of copyrights. distribution, and access to a wide global network, as well as exploring ways to collaborate with a wide range of authors and illustrators specializing in writing for children, adults and youth.

The participants pointed out that international exhibitions constitute a bridge of cultural communication between Arab publishers, publishing makers and readers from around the world. They have interest in high-quality products, especially in the fields of education and children’s books.
