The new season of ‘Secret Duets’ has started again. And not just like that… The great young talent of the Netherlands, Emma Kok (15), gives a beautiful performance with presenter Jamai Loman (37).
“I’ve never heard anything so pure”
In Secret Duets famous Dutch people sing with a secret singer which is hidden behind a wall. They have to guess who they are singing with. The program ends each time with a performance by presenter Jamai Loman with a non-visible artist.
This time Jamai gets to sing with Emma Kok, something he quickly realizes. “I was with her in Ahoy not so long ago. I even knew her from a little further back, through another program.” He’s not the only one who notices it straight away. Vajèn van den Bosch and Richard Groenendijk also know it. “Give me a high five,” Vajèn says to Richard. Dave von Raven has no idea, but he is impressed. “I thought it was very pure. I have never heard anything so pure.”
Then it’s time for the unveiling. The two artists enchant the audience with their singing. And it is indeed Emma. Jamai immediately explains from which program he knows her hair. “We met for the first time at… The Voice Kids.” Emma suffers from a stomach disease. “And then sing like that,” says Jamai. “Unbelievable.” Loud applause follows from the panel and audience.
