The TV Emmy Awards ceremony, which was originally scheduled to take place on September 18, will take place on January 15, 2024, according to the official website of the award.

Variety magazine notes that the ceremony is postponed for the first time since the terrorist attacks in the United States in 2001. The decision was made once morest the backdrop of a strike by the US Screenwriters and Actors Guilds, which are fighting for higher wages.

As a result of the postponement, the Emmys will take place during the winter awards season alongside the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. Variety reports that the Emmys will honor work from June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023, with other awards taking into account the period from January 1 to December 31, 2023. Thus, different seasons of the same series can be awarded with awards.

As reported, the series “Descendants” became the leader in the number of nominations for the Emmy Award: it is presented in 27 categories. It is followed by The Last of Us (24 nominations), The White Lotus (23 nominations) and Ted Lasso (21 nominations).
