“Friends” colleagues Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow say goodbye to Matthew Perry with emotional Instagram posts.
The loss is said to have particularly affected Aniston.
Both will miss his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh.
The cult sitcom “Friends” ran on television for around ten years. These ten years were the best of her life, US actress Lisa Kudrow (60) suggests in an Instagram post in which she says goodbye to her late colleague and friend Matthew Perry (1969-2023), who died at the end of October Died at the age of 54.
Kudrow first remembers the beginnings of the series and posts an old photo showing the two of them. After filming the pilot “Friends Like Us,” “you suggested we play poker and you made it so much fun for us as we started to build a relationship. Thanks for that.”

“Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said that my muscles ached and tears streamed down my face every day,” the actress continues. A few days after his death, his “Friends” colleagues initially said in a joint statement that they were “devastated” and wanted to get in touch at a later date.
“Thank you so much for coming to work when you weren’t feeling well and then being absolutely brilliant,” Kudrow continues. And: “Thank you for the best ten years a person can have. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for everything I have learned about grace and love from knowing you.” Finally, she thanks you for the time “I was able to spend with you, Matthew.”

Aniston also dedicated a few touching words to her late friend. “Oh man, that hit deeply,” she writes on Instagram about a shared picture that shows her behind the scenes of the cult series. Having to say goodbye to “our Matty” brought with it “an insane wave of emotions that I have never experienced before”. The post also includes a private message from Matthew in which he writes to her: “Making you laugh made my day.”
Everyone has to go through losses in their life, be it because of love or a death. «The ability to truly dwell in that grief allows one to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone so much. And we loved him deeply. […] It was always the six of us.” Aniston is referring to the main cast of “Friends” – in addition to her and Perry, they also include David Schwimmer (57), Lisa Kudrow (60), Courteney Cox (59) and Matt LeBlanc (56). Cox, LeBlanc and Schwimmer also recently said goodbye to Instagram. Aniston describes the team as a “select family”.
