Despite their constitutional mandate, consumer protection organizations receive almost no money, says Stefan Meierhans in an interview broadcast on Sunday by le Sunday view. Consumer protection must be strengthened, he adds. “The economy does not have a natural tendency to be competitive. We have to force it to do so.”

During the September meeting, the discussions will focus on the evolution of prices and the role of private companies but also those linked to the State, such as La Poste and the Federal Railways (CFF), specifies Mr Prix. “If anyone has an interest in not inflating inflation further, it must be the state. High bank charges

The Price Monitor believes that private companies are also affected. He thus intends to extend his preliminary investigation on the prices of organic food “to include the retail trade”.

Stefan Meierhans says he has already intervened with the banks. “They charge very high fees, for example, to close accounts, but also in securities trading. I expect corrections.”
