Residents of the metropolitan area of São Paulo can now use approximation payments to pay the fare for all buses in the Metropolitan Urban Transport Company of São Paulo (EMTU).
The information was released by Secretariat of Metropolitan Transport (STM) of the state, which began testing the novelty in May of this year on some lines. Altogether, the EMTU buses serve 134 cities in São Paulo.
In other words, passengers will be able to use credit and debit cards to pay fares, which also includes smartphones and smartwatches compatible with NFC technology — as in the case of the Apple Pay em iPhones e Apple Watches. The cards, however, must necessarily be from the flags Visa, Mastercard or How much.
